After a successful and beautiful surprise visit to my home country with a short carnival performance, it was time for me to continue: this time, finally to a different continent, namely Asia, first stop Thailand.
The flight with Finn Air was surprisingly good. From the airport in Bangkok, I first went to the city simply and cheaply by train. But my hostel was still quite a distance from the final stop, so I needed a taxi. Dear parents: now comes something that you better just skip. Since the traffic in Bangkok is a big disaster, a motorbike is of course faster to get around. So after a tough negotiation about the price for the taxi ride with the heavy backpack, I hopped on the motorbike. Of course, there was no helmet. And why wait at red lights? It's much better to drive against the traffic. Somehow, I still arrived at the hostel in one piece.
Bangkok is big, Bangkok is hectic and above all, the air is so polluted that warning signs were hanging in the hostel with the advice to wear a mask if possible. But Bangkok also has a lot to offer: temples, great and crazy markets of all kinds, great street food, the party street Khao San, boat trips.... After 2 days, I had enough of the city and continued to the north...
