West Coast USA - Day 7 - Horseshoe Bend, Antelope Canyon, Lake Powell with dam, Lone Rock, Toadstool

Çap edildi: 01.01.2017

Today's program is the continuation of the journey from Page to Bryce Canyon National Park with some stops along the way.

First stop was Horseshoe Bend. Here, the Colorado River winds around a rock formation by 180°.

From there, we continued to Lower Antelope Canyon. It was shaped by wind and water. When it rains heavily, it fills up within fifteen minutes. There were many rock formations that looked like animals with some imagination.

Next, we went to Lake Powell with the dam and made a small detour to the Hanging Gardens (plants growing under a cliff overhang, well, kind of). From the Wahweap Overlook, we had a nice view of the lake.

In the lake, we could also admire a very tall rock formation (Lone Rock). It looks very beautiful and there was no one around except for us.

A hike on the Toadstool Trail offered us a magnificent view of the rock formation of the same name. The rapid transition of colors from red to white rock was particularly impressive.

There were several other points on our sightseeing map that were unfortunately not accessible by car and the corresponding roads.

In the evening, we continued to our campsite in Tropic, which did not live up to its name because it was ridiculously cold.

End of Day 7
