Rain is an asshole! Unfortunately, there is a significant drop in temperature today, and it's also wet from above. Quite annoying! We could only go for a short walk and saw wood this morning, then another downpour. We're hunkering down in the caravan until 1 pm. With the heating on, it was quite cozy though. But we had to go out at some point. Off to the car to combine a visit to Mariestad (60 km) with a trip to Lidl. Most grocery temples are open on Sundays here. It reminds me a bit of Lidl at Neustädter Bahnhof. But here in Sweden, it's much cozier. In Dresden, it's more like a war for the last bratwurst.
Mariestad is a nice small town with a harbor. Countless boats were moored there. I guess everyone has one there. And a new trend among the Swedes is mini motorboating. There was even a mini challenge among the old men there.
We couldn't do much. It was windy, cold, and the rain got stronger. We managed to have an ice cream though. But Jule didn't feel like it anymore, so we got back in the car. Off to the campsite. We ordered fries at the reception at 6:30 pm. Seems to be a highlight here. During dinner, we watched German newcomers set up their tents in pouring rain. Oh man, it's good that we were sitting in the dry. Camping in Sweden with a tent in August is for the hardcore!
Let's see if we can go hiking tomorrow. Unfortunately, it's supposed to rain again. Maybe the weather report is lying...
By the way, we're here at Lake Unden. I could never remember the name. But now I have a memory trick for Saxony: not above, unden! The water is said to be super clean. That's why we're diligently filling bottles for drinking. We used to always buy it. At Lidl, we were already told to buy still water. In Norway, we couldn't even find any in the supermarket.
