Day 12: Norderney 'Do the beach walk...' (20 km)

Slept well, stocked up on water as yellowish water flows from our pipes, had a good breakfast...

Today we treat ourselves to a day at the beach and hike about 8 km along the dike to the 'Oase', a nudist beach, and rent a beach chair. And because we're running late, according to the landlord, it only costs half the price.

Settled in the beach chair and into the water! Wonderful, and swam in the North Sea twice. Unfortunately, we were both stung by a jellyfish. It feels like getting into a nettle bush.

The landscape is very similar to the Dutch dunes. On the way, there are again many cyclists.

After about an hour at the beach, we set off and make our way back home. This time through the dunes. Wonderful environment that swallows all the sounds. We really see a lot of rabbits, which retreat into their burrows as we approach.

Quite tired but very satisfied, we stop by the Italian restaurant. And then home to shower, listen to music, chat, and who knows, maybe there will be a Rummikub rematch... See you tomorrow, I'm already looking forward to it and can only reveal briefly: Louis!

Slept well, boiled water because the water from the pipes is yellow 🥴 and then had an extensive and relaxed breakfast.

Today is going to be a beach day and the walk there is 8 km. Arriving at the 'Oase' after a beautiful walk through the village, along the dike, and through the dunes (this time the landscape is very similar to the Netherlands), we rent a beach chair for half price (because we're so late according to the landlord).

Settled in the beach chair and straight into the water! Delicious!! But after 10 minutes of splashing around, we both get stung by a jellyfish, ouch! Back to the chair and enjoy the sun, after half an hour we do it again without getting stung. An hour later, we head back home.

This time we take a different route (more through the dunes) and stop for a beer before we set off. On the way, we really see a lot of rabbits/hares, what a nice sight!

After 2 hours of walking, we arrive tired but satisfied at the Italian restaurant (rhyming and writing without lifting your shirt 😁) had a nice meal, went home, and now writing the blog with the radio on and a glass of wine...
