A sunny day with a rafting tour planned as the highlight.
But first, we want to visit Patricia Lake and Pyramid Lake in the morning light. A postcard idyll awaits us, peaceful and incredibly beautiful!
The kids play by the water and we find grizzly bear tracks in the sand. On the way back, we spot a grizzly bear in the distance in the forest (with some other tourists). While all the other cars keep driving, we wait for the sake of the kids and we're lucky! The bear rustles in the bushes and crosses the road behind our car. An exciting experience! Even the herd of elk grazing with their calves on the roadside can't compete.
For our "Family Rafting Tour," we are taken to the dock by a yellow school bus. We get life jackets and off we go down the Athabasca River in a raft for 2 hours. The kids cheer at every rapid and enjoy the cold showers. The landscape from the water's perspective is fantastic.
To dry off, we have a picnic in the sun at the turquoise shimmering Beauvert Lake.
While Philipp prepares the evening marshmallow grilling with the kids, we hike the "Valley of the Five Lakes loop." It turns out to be almost 5 km long, longer than expected, but it compensates us with every view of the lakes shimmering in different colors.
An exciting day comes to an end by the fire.
