New Brunswick

Çap edildi: 15.05.2022

For our itinerary, we browse through travel guides here and there to gather information and find inspiration for our next stop.
That's how we ended up driving to Saint John, which is one of the largest port cities in Canada. When we arrived, we were greeted by industrial parks, smoking chimneys, and high-rise buildings.
It was clear to us that we should keep going!
We prefer immersing ourselves in nature, so we headed to Fundy National Park in Alma. Instead of just driving straight, we encountered steep curves and significant changes in elevation, turning the drive into a natural sightseeing adventure.

In Alma, a small fishing village, we took a break and walked out onto the mudflats. Unfortunately, we didn't make it all the way to the water as it seemed endless, and we didn't want to risk getting caught by the tide. After refueling, we were stunned when we had to pay 300 Canadian dollars. That called for a chair to sit down and a drink. Nonetheless, we continued our journey, with the next destination just a few minutes along the coast, the Hopewell Rocks. The tidal erosion of the rock formations can only be seen at low tide. After a short hike, we observed this natural spectacle up close. It's impressive to see the power of nature exerted over the years.
We had hoped to spend the night with our camper van right here, but as often is the case, overnight parking is strictly prohibited. So we moved on to a railway museum, not a bad location for an overnight stay.
The night was short because crickets and geese had given a concert.

We leave New Brunswick with the city of Moncton and will see you again in Nova Scotia.

Until then, greetings from 'Benjie'
