We spent a very quiet night in Penamacor. Of course we also took a look at the historic old town and the castle and as a reward we had a small Galao in the Café Jardim de Republica.
The tour continues through flowering meadows, past a reservoir to Sabugal. There is also a short town tour and a French bakery with very tasty cakes!
We continue on to Vila Formoso, the parking space is desolate and so we drive to Castelo Bom, Rio Coa campsite. This is where we get a shock, because the description in the motorhome guide is not accurate at all. We are indeed in an idyllic spot by a river, but the actual campsite no longer exists, is completely neglected and the steep path to the campsite really takes some getting used to!
Dinner in the motorhome, of course (because of the mosquitoes), because we are in the middle of nowhere again.
By the way, our last day in Portugal.
