Day 16: Tom Price

Çap edildi: 01.10.2018

I got a lot of sleep last night for the first time in a long time. Our little giggly bear Elija slept through until 6:30 am today. He hasn't done that for a long time.

After the long day of driving yesterday, we don't feel like doing much today, so we decide to stay another night in Tom Price.

Michi goes swimming in the pool with the kids, and I dedicate myself to the mountain of dirty laundry. The weather here is perfect for drying clothes - hot and slightly windy. The 4 loads of laundry (including bedding and towels) are dry in no time.

For lunch, we have pasta and then we go to town to replenish our supplies. We have needed quite a few things in the last 2 weeks and you can get almost everything at Coles. They even have toys, and we have to get some - clay for everyone, Lego for Sami, and a Barbie for Maxi. At the bottle store, we get beer and wine.

We inquire at the Visitor Center about a campsite at Dales Campground in Karijini National Park. I tried to reserve a spot online in the morning, but it wasn't possible. We are told that we can just drive to the campground and pay the camping fee in cash to the rangers. It seems to be very crowded, but everyone finds a spot. Well, we'll see tomorrow.

We spend some time at the playground next to the Visitor Center. The kids are having a blast! Elija loves swings, and the older ones are enjoying the papa-karenz to the fullest with games of tag and hide-and-seek. We are very happy that we get to spend so much time together. Especially in such a beautiful place.

Today we have filet steak from kangaroo with corn, wedges, and salad - really delicious!!!
