When I lifted my head in the morning to check a noise, a beaver swam by in the lake. Check, being woken up by a beaver once in a lifetime.
The route followed the railway tracks for the first half of the day, along the tourist train 'Erdei Lak'. Through huge forests and green bike paths. The nature feels very familiar but wilder and larger in dimension, familiar birds can also be heard.
In almost all the villages, freshly erected May trees were standing. Unfortunately, there were no events related to it anywhere. Also, a recurring sight is observing people at the various stations of firewood supply. Trees being cut down, chopped up, loaded, unloaded, and stacked everywhere.
In the second half of the day, the landscape changed noticeably. Villages became bigger and agriculture increased. Huge fields with the most modern farming machinery. It went towards Balaton or Lake Balaton. Traffic also increased and became almost dangerous at one or two places. I made my afternoon stop in Keszthely on a tourist street near the lake. The first impression of Lake Balaton made me think about whether this is a place where I want to stay. The further drive showed me many more faces and I was very happy with my selected campsite with lake access. I enjoyed the shower and the sunset with a pack of peanuts.
