The last longer drive with our car started in Dunedin in the morning and we made a small stop at the Moeraki Boulders, which are up to 60 tons heavy balls formed from clay and mud millions of years ago. After this attraction, we stopped at a fish restaurant and then raced towards Christchurch. We also stopped at an old mill before arriving in Christchurch. There, we checked in first and then went shopping and took a walk around our hotel. In the evening, we had dinner at Wendy's (similar to Hermsburger). The next morning, we had to say goodbye to our Toyota Yaris, with which we covered 5126km in the last 34 days. From now on, we rely on public transportation again, but that will also work out. The rest of the day, we took a walk through the city and visited all the sights (churches, botanical garden...), this city is incredible. There is a construction site on every corner because the city was completely destroyed in an earthquake in 2011. If you don't see a construction site, everything is modern, there are hardly any old streets or buildings left... Except for a church that is supposed to be saved and renovated after years of discussion. Here, you are constantly reminded of the danger of an earthquake. We ended the evening at the waterfront promenade. The next morning, we slept in, then went to a shopping mall and visited our favorite places again. Noah went to the hairdresser. In the afternoon, we packed our bags before taking an evening walk to the memorial of the 185 deceased. Now we are sitting in the hotel lobby enjoying the last hours on New Zealand soil. It's sad that time has passed so quickly here and that we will soon be boarding the plane to Australia. But we will also enjoy the 4 weeks there to the fullest.
