Day 8, from Dardhë to Përrenjas

Today, I left at 7 am. I crossed over hills and through several villages. I was often greeted very kindly by farmers, one of whom didn't want to let go of my hand🤝. Everyone greeted me or greeted me back. It was again a wonderful environment, just like yesterday. I only got lost twice on this day. Once, I walked a little over 1 km in the wrong direction and uphill. The second time, there was a sudden heavy rain⛈🌧, so I didn't have time to take out my rain poncho from my backpack, and looking at the map or my phone didn't work anymore. I walked together with a funeral procession until we reached a large bridge, where we all waited for the rain to stop and tried to talk about my journey. After that, I crossed over another chain of hills and finally arrived in Përrenjas, near the North Macedonian border, after about 30 km. Here in Përrenjas, I found a 1-star hotel, well, I didn't want to spend a wellness weekend there anyway. The food was good and affordable. I had a good bean stew, a plate of rice with ragout sauce, bread, a nice mixed salad, and a bottle of Italian beer. I paid a total of 3.70 € for everything😳.
