2nd day in Montreal

ప్రచురించబడింది: 23.12.2019

I started the second day in Montreal later than usual because I was still a bit tired from the previous day.

First, I went for a run in Parc la Fontaine, which covers 34 hectares. The park used to be a farm but is now located in the middle of the city and attracts many animals. There are many benches around the lake where walkers can sit down.

Afterwards, I visited the botanical garden. There are 22,000 species of plants both outdoors and in 10 greenhouses. There are also themed gardens such as the China and Japan gardens and some tree houses. Since it was winter, the plants were no longer in bloom and everything had been cut down, but a walk in the greenery still felt good.

Next to the botanical garden is the Olympic Park, where the Summer Olympics took place in 1976. One of the city's landmarks is located here: the stadium. It is known for its 165-meter-high inclined tower. The park also houses the Biodome, which features 5 ecosystems with more than 7,000 animals.

I ended the day at Jean-Talon Market. The famous farmers' market in Montreal, however, was relatively small compared to the markets I had visited so far. The majority of the items for sale here were fruits, vegetables, pastries, and flowers.
