The largest waterfalls in the world

The largest waterfalls in the world are located on the border between Brazil and Argentina: the Iguazú Falls, also lovingly called las Cataratas in Spanish. We start by flying from São Paulo to Foz de Iguazu. In the hostel, we also meet an old travel companion, Joram, the Belgian, who is also backpacking through South America. With perfect weather, we head to the national park. On the first day, we visit the Brazilian side, and on the second day, the Argentine side. What awaits us is indescribable. The power, the size, the sound - it's incredible.

Over 270 waterfalls plunge into the depths, and the tremendous roar is overwhelming. What a natural wonder! We can't get enough and are in awe. So much water thundering down the rocks. When we look into the Garganta del Diablo (Devil's Throat), we forget the world around us. On the Argentine side, we get so close to the waterfalls that we get drenched.
