BAVS = Bavarian Alpine Foreland Lakes
Also (swimming) bathing lakes, Meister Eder See, etc., formed by the glacial moraine glaciers, as we learned from Pumuckl :)
And Back to Black is my favorite song by Amy Winehouse.
I sleep very poorly; I wake up at 03:00. To have three connections to choose from - in case the S2 train is delayed - I start cycling at 04:50 to Höchst. Everything goes smoothly, in the EC train to Stuttgart, my bike is the only one. After my recent odyssey to Marburg, I didn't take the Regio with the €9 ticket, but treated myself to an EC train with a paid bike parking reservation. That was the plan, but in reality, my connecting EC train is canceled today due to construction work, as well as the connecting bike ticket. Although I could have taken the ICE train at no extra cost, it wouldn't have taken my bike... So it's the Regio train, via Ulm to Munich to Freilassing. I am practicing Buddhist serenity and equanimity, it won't harm me for sure...
At around 2:00 pm, I get off the train in Freilassing; it is sultry and quite warm. I quickly start the pre-downloaded kommot route and start cycling. I still can do it, it feels good. Memories of my bike tour to Rome come back with every second pedal stroke. And of several stays with P, I don't even know how many times I have been here with him, but of course by car.
Kommot sends me through Salzburg and a part of Austria, so I get to enjoy a fantastic apple strudel, excellent coffee, and an even better poppy seed pastry. The owner tells me that the existence of this bakery is threatened due to a lack of staff.
There is a large sign at the campsite in Schönau am Königssee: everything is full, please stay somewhere else. Nevertheless, I ask if the "everything is full" only applies to motorhomes or also to a one-person tent and a bike. It's not that crowded after all.
