Day 19 Zion NP

ప్రచురించబడింది: 28.09.2024

I approached Zion NP with great expectations, which were only partially met. We quickly got from St. George into the NP. We parked outside the park and took the shuttle bus to the Visitor Center, from where we took the second shuttle line into Zion Canyon. This road is closed to cars. Great praise for the shuttle service. It operates quickly and efficiently. At the furthest stop in the canyon, we got off and walked up the valley for about 3 km. Then there was a river crossing that the girls didn’t want to attempt. So we turned back. The valley was beautiful but reminded me a lot of Saxon Switzerland, which is significantly cooler and less crowded. Well, that’s a matter of taste. The girls found it spectacular due to the high, steep rock walls. We took the buses back to the car. Before that, we visited the Visitor Center and had lunch at the Red Rock Grill. We then drove again into the NP towards the east entrance, which was a fantastic route. Many great rock formations that do the NP justice. We also reached our standard altitude of 2000 m again. On the plateau, we then encountered a nice herd of buffalo and soon after arrived at Mount Carmel Junction, where our chic hotel is located.
