The following Sunday morning, the message came: "Yes, the motorhome is still available. When can you come and view it? Today, perhaps?"
We managed that.
But we were not alone at the viewing appointment. Other interested parties had already taken a tour of the vehicle.
How do you imagine the interior of a motorhome when you have no idea... well, no idea. In any case, it was all a bit old school, brown dashboard, imitation leather, the cupboards in dark wood, 80s charm. The seating area had a long tear, but it didn't look saggy. The entire interior was old, but seemed to be intact, the lights had all been converted to LED, but apart from that... A look under the vehicle revealed that the entire body was made of plastic and aluminum, the only places that might have started to rust had been replaced, the entire exhaust system was new. The chassis supports had no visible rust. The engine started immediately, without any long revving.
We promised to get in touch that same evening, but we didn't.
Then on Monday evening the message came: "Yesterday you promised that you would definitely get in touch and not be like the others."
We weren't sure how far we wanted to take the game. We were really excited, but we also knew we had no idea.
Once again, we were able to get out of this mess by simply asking someone if they would help us. Sebb's aunt's friend had a car repair shop and agreed to take a look at the vehicle. So Sebb arranged a test drive to the repair shop for Tuesday morning.
