Riga

Today, the old town of Riga was on our agenda. All the interesting points are located in a relatively small space and are easily accessible on foot.

With perfect weather, we found the big and small, the well-known and the lesser-known sights. Since we didn't have a specific route and let ourselves be guided more freely, we often stumbled upon particularly beautiful places. The number of photos would be overwhelming here. Therefore, just a small selection.

In the afternoon, our feet needed a little break which we enjoyed on a boat ride on the canal and the Daugava. Very calming and once again very interesting.

To conclude a very walk-friendly day, despite the boat ride, we looked for a restaurant with typical Latvian cuisine. We were successful and it was super delicious. However, vegetarians have a hard time in Latvia. The dishes are very tasty but predominantly hearty and meat-heavy. Not even at the golden M do they have veggie burgers.

And the Latvians are probably on average taller than us. The little restroom is significantly higher 😂
