At 8 o'clock we had an appointment in the city with representatives of the church, the city, and the Italian consulate. The police chief of Ciudad del Este was also present. He did not show any expression during the whole event, not even a hint. We were already told beforehand that the police in Paraguay would be very unfriendly and would act very restrictively during traffic controls. The behavior of this police chief matched this information. A difference to colleagues from Argentina and Chile like day and night. After that, we went to the Iguazu Falls. For this, we had to drive to Brazil. However, without passport control, there is a kind of small cross-border traffic here. The pictures speak for themselves. At the falls, we also saw a kind of coati. The absolute highlight was a helicopter flight over the falls.
Dino, Marco Monachelli, and I treated ourselves to it. 10 minutes for 100 dollars per person. In Ciudad del Este, there is allegedly the largest building painting of the Mona Lisa worldwide. In the evening, we were invited by the Italian consulate to a restaurant for dinner. By the way, there are motorcycle taxis here in Paraguay and Brazil. The motorcycles are yellow, and so are the helmets. The driver always carries a second helmet.
