Upon arriving in 'Gisborne', we first visited the beautiful city center, which is home to many small shops, cafes, and restaurants.
There is a lovely river nearby where we spent the night.
The next morning, just a two-minute walk away, there was a farmers market where we got some food.
Afterwards, we took a leisurely walk to 'Kaiti Hill'. From there, we had a wonderful view of 'Kaiti Beach', the coastline, the city, and the sea on a sunny day.
Additionally, there is a tree planted by Princess Diana herself in 1983.
Next to it is a statue that is supposed to represent Captain James Cook, the first European in New Zealand. However, the city made a big mistake because the statue does not depict Captain Cook. No one knows who it actually is. Very embarrassing!
In the evening, we drove to 'Makorori Carpark' right by the beach. Definitely one of the most beautiful beaches!
