Knysna and Oudtshoorn

Unfortunately, the weather in Knysna wasn't great the day before yesterday. It was quite chilly at 18 degrees Celsius and drizzling. We drove around the city, visited the lagoon and the narrow entrance to the lagoon. We also went to Belvidere, where Knysna is said to have originated. Yesterday, we headed to Oudtshoorn. On the way, we saw the 'Map of Africa', which is a map of Africa made from trees. After a short stop in George, we arrived in the Karoo. Due to the dryness, there are countless ostrich farms here and a few meerkats. We were able to observe the meerkats, or as they are called in Afrikaans, Merkats, this morning. For that, we had to be at a meeting point at five o'clock, then drive a short distance in a convoy, and then wait for the meerkats sitting on picnic chairs. Thank goodness the weather was very good today, so we didn't have to wait long. Definitely a highlight so far. After breakfast, we went to the Cango Caves. Two tours were offered in the limestone caves. Mom chose the more informative one, and I chose the Adventure Tour. My group had to climb through narrow rock fissures and squeeze through a passage that was only 27cm high. After that, my adrenaline was saturated for a few days. Tomorrow we're heading to the vineyards. Wishing everyone a wonderful Sunday. ☺
