14 June 2019:

The night on the folding bed was not very restful. Before breakfast, we went to two markets to get fruits and vegetables for the animals.

Still before breakfast, I was supposed to clean the area upstairs in the barn. It had been covered with dirt for months. And this is where the living room and other beds for volunteers should be used. I, naturally starving, was not really motivated to do anything. Finally, I was relieved to eat.

Due to the cold season, I wanted to go to the house in the evening, which the mother didn't like. One felt somehow excluded. We workers here on the farm have to sleep in the caravan or a room in the barn without heating. Suddenly I had a comparison to the previous situation with the family. The work and accommodation with the children seemed to be a paradise in comparison. And there my work was recognized and appreciated.

15 June 2019:

Got fruits and vegetables again. However, today we also got bread from another market. Then I continued cleaning alone upstairs in the barn. Hungry and therefore unmotivated. Then we finally had breakfast and afterwards Lukas, another volunteer, helped me finish cleaning.

16 June 2019:

It was Sunday and we could sleep longer because we only had to go to one market. We were able to finish relatively early compared to other days. But the weather didn't invite us to do anything. So the only option was to lay in bed since it was cold and wet outside. This gave me a lot of time to think.
