... take the 2nd exit.
I can't hear her anymore, the Navi - Heidi. I've never driven through so many roundabouts before, and she knew them all.
It's a transition day. From Mandelieu along the Cote d'Azur always along the waterfront. The D 559 is the road that leads me.
Right at the beginning, a feeling of pain comes over me that I didn't unpack the racing bike. Along the coastline between Mandelieu and Frejus, the road winds perfectly between red rocks and great bays in a constant up and down. And the best part - road cyclists also enjoy this route in the unstable weather. It is dry, but cold, not even 10 degrees. And today is Sunday morning, a time when I usually sit on the racing bike and go to the cafe with the guys at Crossini.
For me, this is the most beautiful section I have driven here so far.
The route is supposed to always follow the coast through the well-known places on the Cote, even if Navi - Heidi wants to lead me on a different route. I remain stubborn and follow the D 559 and pass through the places Frejus, St. Raphael, Sainte-Maxime - I skip the turnoff to St. Tropez - Cavalaire-sur-mer (for me one of the best places on the way...), Le Lavandou, Hyeres and then onto the highway to the destination in Six-fours-les plages.
I have been a guest at Liane's, a cousin of Simone's, here in the past and know this area quite well.
Six-fours is located behind the city of Toulon on a peninsula that is overrun by countless visitors in the summer months. Then there is no free space by the sea and the streets are full. But now everything is very relaxed.
My cousin Liane has chosen the spot at the harbor of Le Brusc for me and inquired. There are always motorhomes at this time of year. However, there is no electricity, water or toilet. But it doesn't cost anything either.
It should last a few days like this. The view is priceless.
