May 4th/Day 35: Bucey-lès-Gy - Abbey d'Acey

ప్రచురించబడింది: 05.05.2019

It's my 35th day of the long journey: one-third of the planned time is completed by evening. I'm happy about that.

To be honest, I calculate ahead sometimes. I've been doing so well every day, but Compostela is still so far away. But the journey is the goal, right? Even the longest march begins with the first step.

In addition, today in Marnay I will know that there are no more than 2000 km to go to the destination😊😊😊😢🙄

34 km must first be run, especially as rain is announced.

In Gy, the pilgrims must decide whether to take the shortest route via Vezelay or via Le Puy. Taizé is on the longer route, which one else?

I'm already in Marney for lunch on time, 20 km are done, so I can afford a grand coffee. I am approached by a Mme, she learned German in Weimar and has already been on the Camino de Santiago herself. We talk for a long time and I miss the incoming rain.

There are still 14 km to go and I have to take shelter half an hour, the world is falling apart.

The rain doesn't stop, and after almost three hours I arrive at the Abbey completely wet.

I am received very kindly, dinner (in silence with the Cistercians) is served and I meet Rodolphe from Alsace.

Despite the rain, it was a beautiful day, a beautiful hostel, and a friendly atmosphere for everyone.

956 km have been completed: Michael said I would have arrived from the Spanish border long ago😉
