Balances of the first 14 days

Preparations such as forwarding the mail and finding temporary storage for our belongings (thanks to Family & Christoph for generously offering their company premises), as well as finding reasonable subtenants and nice adoptive parents for Shiva, were really important. And thanks to smartphones and co, we usually have contact with home thanks to a good WiFi network across all parts of Thailand so far...! However, two unexpected events suddenly came into focus for me. The first was that my two credit cards were confiscated 😨💸 (the first due to my carelessness, and the second one, although brand new, was never activated by the bank 🤔💳🚫🏧)!

This resulted in me spending involuntary time in air-conditioned rooms of the respective Thai banks, or waiting in front of them on the weekends. Adribaby responded to this with criticism of me and my lack of preparation, but also with encouragement and support.

It also helped my morale, especially when I found money, like 10 baht on the beach and 10 Australian dollars in the gutter! In addition, we received two offered breakfast vouchers from the 'sten's' as they usually don't wake up before 10 o'clock... Thank you for that, Dresdner Dude's. Every other day we do laundry (honestly, mostly Adrienne does it :) We took the ferry twice, first after 2 nights and now we are on the second island Koh Phangan, from which we will say goodbye shortly!
