At 09:00 we were expected by landlady Nicola for breakfast, the breakfast room was stylishly and warmly furnished, the buffet had everything one could wish for. Nicola prepared the egg dishes herself and there was no choice, we had whatever was available.
After the wonderful breakfast, we loaded the car and said a heartfelt goodbye to Nicola, the little landlady has grown on us a little.
On Route 62 we went via Ladysmith to Oudtshoorn, the route was varied and with the Huisriverpas also a bit challenging. We reached Oudtshoorn and our accommodation at 88 Baron van Reede Guesthouse shortly after 13:15 via Calitzdorp.
Cristo, the host, welcomed us and after the administration, he explained the options in the surrounding area and discussed or arranged dinner for Sunday (Braai at Anny's Bistro) and Monday (Nostalgie) with us. For Sunday afternoon, he recommended a trip to the Cango Wildlife Ranch, which we visited after checking in to the room. This ranch also operates a rescue center for wildcats and African vultures, in addition to supporting the Madagascar Fauna Organization (hence the lemurs).
After the visit to this zoo-like facility, we rested in the room for a while and then walked to Anny's Bistro around 19:00 to enjoy the Braai (South African BBQ).
