A stage that had everything you don't necessarily need.
It was clear to us that the day was not going to be great. Rain, rain, rain was forecast, and the positive forecast said that it would only be downhill today. OK, the first was true, the second only with reservations. Anyone who knows the image of Tuscany with sun-drenched hills and picturesque mountain villages, or at least has certain expectations of the Re, has been very disappointed over the last two days: constant rain and fog neither gave the sun a chance nor did they open up views of the beautiful villages. In short, the paths became streams, not streams became obstacles that were difficult to navigate around.
This meant that the official Paws path was no longer passable at one point because of a river without prior notice, and we had to walk the whole way back to finally reach a bus stop 5 km away, from where a bus took us, frozen and wet to the bone, to Stia.
And then the bright spot of the day began. Not only had it finally stopped raining, but our landlord met us at the bus stop and drove us to our quarters in a castle above the city. A really lovely apartment in the shadow of the keep with a wonderful view of the valley.
Since there were no shops or restaurants there, the landlord agreed to drive us to a pizzeria in the evening and pick us up again later. Now that's what I call service.
Due to the situation today and the forecast of rain for tomorrow, we have decided to focus on sightseeing tomorrow and to cover the next leg by bus.
