On the way to Streaky Bay

Just as romantic as yesterday ended, today begins: With a sunrise high up at Cape Finniss. After completing the Clifftop Drive that we started yesterday, we overlook Waterloo Bay from a lookout platform in Elliston. Elliston has a lot to offer!

About 60 km further north, we take the Talia Caves Road. This gravel road leads us to some unexpectedly impressive natural beauties. Unfortunately, the photos don't capture it. The camera apparently couldn't handle the lighting conditions. Either the colors are pale or everything looks like it's in sunset mode. This section of the route is often compared to the Great Ocean Road, and now we understand why. Except we like it better here. Everything appears so original and untouched, no sign of mass tourism. We spend a few hours here along a stretch of about 2 km. The magnificent landscape combined with the menacing waves of the sea fascinates us.

On our way to Streaky Bay, we stop by Murphys Haystacks. Quite nice, but after everything we've seen today...

Arriving in Streaky Bay, we go shopping and book our spot at the commercial campground. It's the first time our camper van will be connected to electricity. For dinner, we have 1 kg of cooked Venus Bay Prawns that we bought in a small fishing village along the way. And some chilled Chardonnay from the Barossa Valley. Like in heaven!
