Nadine: We walked from Ross Castle to Muckross House through the National Park in the surroundings of Killarney, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

This mansion was built in 1843 in the neo-Elizabethan style for Henry Arthur Herbert, whose family, along with the Brouwns, were the largest landowners in Kerry. Later, it passed to the Guinnes family and was rented out as a hunting lodge, then acquired by a wealthy American as a wedding gift for his daughter, and finally bequeathed to the state after her death. On January 1, 1933, Muckross became Ireland's first national park.

Even Queen Victoria of England and her family were allowed to stay here, which serves as the centerpiece for the boudoir. Yes, everything very grand and noble!

In the basement of the house, the parallel world of the servants opened up. Bell corridor, wine cellar, boot room, kitchen and scullery, laundry room, storage rooms, weaving room.

Next door in the park, Simon took a look at the Muckross traditional farms as a contrast to all the pomp.
