On the road with Schulz&Schulz

Well, unfortunately my leg is bothering me more than we would like, so Schulz&Schulz are our constant companions.

But we don't want to spoil our vacation and still go out in the morning. First, we head towards our favorite breakfast place 'La Sarita' (https://en.restaurantguru.com/La-Sarita-Florida), but unfortunately it is closed for renovation until next week. At least the chef recognizes and greets us personally - in painter's attire.

Well, then to 'Vera Cruz' (https://m.facebook.com/pg/Café-Veracruz-112951055442378/about/). It doesn't look as fancy as in the Facebook photo anymore, but we feel comfortable there, the coffee is good, and most importantly, the internet works!!! Breakfast promo (coffee, 3 medialunas, juice, and water) for 120, in March it was only 80. Again, a sense of familiarity - and a short chat with Norbert about the World Cup.

We also want to make use of our time here and get a tax number for a possible house purchase. Since it was renovated and spruced up a few years ago, the train station now houses a kind of 'citizen service center'. Various public advisory offices (social services, justice, ID card and passport application, and tax office) have small offices here that are staffed continuously throughout the week - without appointments, but with a waiting line. Since we didn't have our passports with us anyway, we postponed the action to the New Year.

The fountain on the nicely designed and surprisingly (still) well-maintained train station square is perfect for cooling down injured legs - although the water temperature feels like 30 degrees - and this is 2 days after Christmas.
