Tag 1 (2017) Hurray, for the 4th time to Abu Dhabi!

Day 1 - Frankfurt - Abu Dhabi

Our 4th trip to Abu Dhabi is coming up! We are excited to see our family again and to see our (now 2) godchildren again 😉

We start at 11:15 a.m. on time with Etihad towards sunny Abu Dhabi. With the cool autumn temperatures and today's rain, we are definitely looking forward to the sun.

After the last time we flew very cheaply but needed 3 attempts to get home as standby passengers, we are flying again with discounted "Staff Tickets" that the family from Abu Dhabi booked for us, but this time they are "firmly booked" tickets. Still significantly cheaper than a "normal" booking and we are now on the safe side and can plan and enjoy the autumn holidays in peace! Convenient to have a family member working at Etihad 😊

The flight goes smoothly, we land in the evening around 8 p.m. local time. It is already dark in Abu Dhabi. When we leave the plane, we run into a "hot wall". Wow, it's still hot here in the evening!!! That's probably almost 30 degrees outside. Quickly into the air-conditioned terminal, through immigration and then to the baggage claim.

The weather app confirms: current temperature is +31 degrees, the weekly temperatures suggest one thing: sweating!!! Almost 40 degrees almost every day - oh God .... I was hoping for sunny warm weather - I didn't expect this heat in October. Clearly hotter than the first 2 years when we were here in October - but we were there later in the month. Well, fortunately there are air-conditioners everywhere 😉

As always, we pick up our rental car from Europcar this year - today a Chevy Cruze - and drive to the family in Al Raha Gardens, where we are already expected 😊
