On Thursday I actually had to say goodbye to Soi Dog. It was really nice again!
Ivar was back on Thursday. We planned our onward journey. On Friday we took a taxi to the bus station in Phuket. From there we drove 6 hours to Trang. Since we arrived in the evening, we got a hotel room. The next day we took a mini van to the port and from there took the ferry to Koh Mook (or Koh Muk or Koh Mok).
We stayed in a simple bamboo hut, but it had a very comfortable bed. First we went to Charlie Beach. There is a restaurant there where we ate. Unfortunately the beach is very littered, otherwise it would be beautiful to look at! There were also a lot of dogs running around. A few of the younger dogs were just thin! Terrible to look at! I gave our biscuits to two of the dogs. I know, not a dog-friendly diet. But I wonder: what do the dogs live on here? In fact, on what is washed up or left lying around. So leftover food, rubbish and dead fish. I then didn't think my biscuits were so bad. The young dogs all had white tail tips. Must be siblings. There were 4 puppies living under a tree. 2 also had white tail tips. Soon I saw the mother of the puppies, with this characteristic white tail tip. In the evening I went to a shop to buy water. A small dog accompanied me on the way. Why are there so many dogs here! Terrible! There was a big thunderstorm that night. Since our hut is made of corrugated iron, the rain was terribly loud. The next day we went to the village of Koh Mook. The island has a pointed headland. There is a hotel on this. But the white beach is great for walking! We also lay down in the shade. In the sea we saw turtles appearing on the surface every now and then! Relatively close to the beach! Unfortunately you couldn't see much because there was quite a lot of sediment in the water. But once I actually saw a fin under me! After dinner we bought mosquito repellent. The beasts are a bit bigger here! Ivar also found some dog food. I spread some of it in a place where there are lots of young dogs. I also met the dog from yesterday again! My idea was to put the food out, the dogs would eat it and I would quickly go back. Johanna thought God was laughing! The dog from yesterday ate really quickly and ran after me. All the way to our hut! I had a small hope that our host's dog would chase the little rascal away. Long story short: the little rascal and the host's dog are now friends and the little rascal is now lying outside our door.
