Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao are located in the Gulf of Thailand, about 700 km from Bangkok. Since it rains and monsoon season prevails on the Thai west coast, the Andaman Sea, in June, we skipped the west and are now leisurely hopping from one island to another here.

All of them have beautiful white sandy beaches, hilly, wooded hinterland and a wide range of accommodations.

Koh Samui is the most famous island and the destination for many package holidaymakers, while Koh Phangan seems to target a different audience. Although there is also a wide range of accommodations, including upscale options, the density of hostels and simple huts is strikingly tailored to young partygoers. We are not exactly that, but we also enjoy having a cocktail in a nice beach bar.

There is a huge party here on every full moon. Tomorrow as well. That's really not for us. Ines can report about it. We spent 4 days on Koh Samui, and we will spend a week on Koh Phangan in total, and then another week on Koh Tao.
We like Koh Phangan, there is a place on the west coast where you can find yoga schools and good vegetarian restaurants, and the main town, Thong Sala, offers pubs and restaurants for every taste.
Unfortunately, Michael has problems with his shoulder and cannot move his right arm well. Therefore, diving and swimming are out of the question. But it's so beautiful here, you can just sit and look at the sea.
