Waking up by the river in the morning was impressive. The captain was up early and lying next to me, of all places?! This was due to the fact that the back side of the boat radiates cooler at night by the river! Admiral Curby sacrificed herself as a buffer. Anyway... The night before, I had the last watch and thought I heard grunting noises in the bushes. It was only brief. Just enough to make you constantly wonder if you just imagined it?! Admiral Curby reported the same, but I thought she was just messing with me. During the day, we found wild boar tracks and droppings directly in the gravel below our mooring. While brushing my teeth, I stood like a lighthouse in front of the boat, constantly expecting to have to counter a high-knee wild boar attack from behind. But it remained calm 😃 The night was cool but the crew made the best of it. In the morning, there was warm coffee, the first rays of sunshine, and washing by the river. Only the captain abstained because the water wasn't cold enough for him. Some rowdy animals had torn apart his full diaper bag that we usually store under the boat and had feasted on it during the night. Since the captain has enough full diapers, that was bearable 😬
With an empty diaper, the Duci crew set sail again. Today we went from Fango with a stopover in Porto through the Calanche to Piana and slightly beyond...
The route to Porto as well as the Calanche was similarly adventurous as the winding road we drove along the coast. The route constantly offers a great view of the cliffs with their many bays, but also requires a cool head when navigating, especially when in the afternoon there are not only many car and camper drivers, but also pedestrians 😳 on the road...
In the evening, we found a nice mooring with a pool and proper sanitary facilities at a good price. The captain is already in the bunk, the admiral just gave him an evening snack, the crew enjoyed gnocchi with tofu stir-fry from the local Aldi, the sun has been asleep since 8:01 PM, the stars are twinkling...
