In Tainan, there are approximately 1,000 temples, so they are no longer numbered consecutively. There is a temple in almost every street and alley, big and small, and each one is more beautiful than the other. And just before the new year (the Year of the Rabbit begins on 22.01.2023), everywhere is decorated with the most beautiful lanterns.

We walked around the city and small alleys all day today, visited many temples, observed the daily market activities, and checked out stores selling New Year's decorations.

Sightseeing: Chihkan Tower, Anping Fort Zeelandia, Anping Old Street, Shennong Street, and in the evening, the Puji Lantern Festival.

Status regarding the visa: starting from 1.1.2023, Austrians need a visa. So we have applied for it, but it is still being processed - let's see, it's exciting. We needed passport photos for the application - one with glasses and one without glasses, we didn't understand why 🙈.
