G'day!

So today is the last day in Brisbane, Australia.

By the way: the peacock was on our balcony at the house in the forest the whole night before. In the morning I said a quick hello to him:

Bear with peacock

So yesterday we drove here to Brisbane and stayed overnight in a really nice place on the outskirts of the city.

Bear with manger

They had set up something like this with a baby in a kind of basket - I learned that it's called a crib, but it has nothing to do with the viral disease. And there are three men who bring strange things. And dad and mom of the baby and one with a donkey. Or is it a sheep? Well, it's probably not just any baby, but a very special one. I used to think that every baby was special. But this one is particularly special. It's called Jesus and it has a pretty complicated and impressive story. So much so that there is a very long book about it. That's called the New Testament, say my elders. I don't know if someone died or something. Because I thought a will said something about who would inherit. Oh, my oldest is saying that it has something to do with religion. And that there is also an Old Testament. And that several different religions have something to do with the whole thing. Oh, it's all too complicated for me. Someone has to explain this to me calmly, about religions. What people celebrate and what the nativity scene is for is called Christmas and is an important celebration for a lot of people. My older ones say it will be weird for them to celebrate on the beach somewhere this year. But that still takes a while.

In any case, many places are already beautifully decorated. Here, for example, in a café in Tamborine:

In the evening we went to a Japanese restaurant. I tell you, that was really exciting. The food came by in small portions on a carousel.

Sushi is all about it

And today we were in Brisbane in the - watch out, English! - City on the go.

There were really tall houses there, I tell you.

Wooaaahhh, so high!

We visited the Museum of Brisbane (MoB). In the City Hall building. It looks somehow strange among the modern high-rise buildings.

Old and modern together

There were very interesting things there about the history of Nrisbane and the region. Also about the Aborigines, who have lived here for so long and are often not treated well at all. That made me think quite a bit.

"Silent Witnesses"
The text about it. Incredible!

And then we took the City Hopper. A small ferry boat that you can use for free.

Look at plans so you don't get lost

Of course I had to check whether it was really safe. But everything was ok.

Lifebuoy: check

Lunch (Lunch! Jaaawoohool, that's what it's called) was at the Indian restaurant. The drinks were super colorful and the food was really tasty.

Everything's so colorful here

And then we soon went to the airport.

Bye, Brisbane

We already have the flight to Melbourne behind us. Doll, with sunset:

Wooaaahhh!

And we also made it from Melbourne to Bangkok.

Bangkok airport

Next destination: Philippines.

See you soon and greetings from Travis the Buddy Bear
