Good morning Corsica!
With a light coffee and a swollen knee, the day began. I decided to take advantage of it and save the tire profiles of my mountain bike, in order to burn fossil fuels: A bus tour around Cape Corsica...

All alone at the campsite. I love the off-season!

Local excavations by the campsite operator underground:

During the ride, I saw this Renault in front of a small shop and briefly read the V8 marking on the trunk. Spontaneously, I decided to take a closer look at this vehicle and get a drink at the same time. After a few seconds of inspecting the vehicle, the owner came out of the store and confronted me. This vehicle is a special homage to the great rally success of the Renault Gordini. The vehicle is now exactly 40 years old today and has covered over 270,000 km. The owner showed me that all hatches and doors were fully functional and that the special paintwork had been done by him personally with expert craftsmanship over several weeks. The peculiar emblem was personally confirmed by Gordini, according to the owner. Everything still works perfectly to this day and only the slight surface rust would distinguish this vehicle from a new one. The vehicle is also used daily on his winery, as he is a Corsican winemaker in the north. For this reason, a raceworthy trailer hitch was installed to quickly transport the precious grapes to Bastia. Towards the end of the conversation, he showed me the technical equipment hidden under the hood and... it turned out that this vehicle didn't have a V8 engine!? What?! No V8?!
But 8 valves... but of course, a connoisseur would know that immediately ;-)

Info: The observant reader has probably noticed that no quotation references have been added. The observant reader also knows that I do not speak or understand French and that everything is a purely interpretive representation of hand signals. One could also say: The people and descriptions in the described action are completely fictional. Well... not entirely: just freely interpreted!

The original vehicle looked something like this:

For dinner, I had the rest of the pizza from yesterday. I can only say: it was amazing! Pizza in the pan works really well... at least for reheating.

Have a nice Friday evening from Corsica, see you soon...!
