Hello North Sea

Sylt ... it's already raining on the way here. But we are prepared for the rough North Sea weather. Each of us, because Franzi and I are traveling separately. She is coming from MD by car and I am coming from Anklam by train. A race, who will be first on Sylt ?!

Arriving in Westerland, I take the bus towards Wennigenstedt, in the middle I have to get off to navigate to Dünenstrasse (because that's where I get the key). Yes or maybe not navigate ... because the display only shows E, but with the help of the friendly baker's wife, a passerby, and an grumpy taxi driver, I find my way - still heavily loaded - in the rain. And I am thrilled. The friendliness of the people, the houses, everything is already beautiful.

The rain stops briefly and so I don't go to the rental agency, but first to the sea. Absolutely beautiful! Really great to see. I am fascinated by the permanent exhibition by Christel L. - it's about huge figures, everyday people, that can be found everywhere in Wennigstedt.

It's raining again, the Mann von Hausen and Gottschalk combined - it's raining, she is loaded up to her chin, and the apartment is still several kilometers away ... he offers me a ride. That's what I call service.

Our apartment (https://www.hausen-gottschalk.de/ferienwohnungen/westerheide-51-app-1/) is cozy, absolutely comfortable, clean, bright. And the shower is just right. Franzi should also be here soon - there's a knock at the door and in front of me stands a drenched Poodle. Due to lack of an umbrella - combined with a long walk (she got off too early after all) - the weather got to her a bit.

She is wet and hungry, and so am I. So we cook pasta - or at least we think so. The water doesn't get hot, after 45 minutes Franzi realizes: Caro, there are still covers on the burners.

And we wonder why the water doesn't boil forever and why it smells burned here 🤨.

But it tastes good, what I don't like is the fact that my camera doesn't charge anymore. Goodbye beautiful Sony photos. Mostly mental images remain ...
