My gateway to Norway is Bergen. This is where my acquaintance with the people and nature of this country begins.
The city itself is a very beautiful and approximately 1000-year-old city. Its location between mountains, fjords, and rocks makes it clear to me that I cannot necessarily rely on my sense of direction here in Norway. There is usually at least one mountain between me and my destination, and I have to take a winding route to get around it. During the first 4 days in Norway, I mainly traveled on foot and by public transportation. The weather in Bergen is very variable. That's why I visited art exhibitions and was pleasantly surprised. Rudolf Stenersen's art collection is a treasure! Munch, Klee, Kandinsky, Picasso... I realized how my interests were revitalized, which I hardly knew existed.
I also visited the mountains around Bergen. The views of the city shaped by the fjords fascinated me both from Fløyen and Ulriken. Bergen is definitely worth a visit.
I gained access to the people here through detours via the machine. Hildegard had her exhaust stolen in Denmark. This event, which was very astonishing to many, slowed down the trip significantly. However, it increased the interaction with the people. In this context, I experienced so much unexpected help and support that it is hard to describe. So on Saturday, a Norwegian TET biker came, took me from the hotel to the motorcycle workshop, and negotiated with the local staff. Together, we transported my motorcycle on a trailer to the workshop. The workshop had contacted a customer who owns the same model of motorcycle. He agreed to temporarily provide his machine for the removal of the needed spare part. And so, this afternoon, the exhaust was able to be moved from one machine to another, and I can continue my journey. A brand new exhaust can now be ordered and delivered without time relevance. As I write this, the uniqueness of these actions, the spontaneous willingness to help by all parties involved, becomes clear to me once again.
That was unexpected for me and is still unbelievable! What luck in misfortune! Thanks to everyone!
