The best roommates in the world!

வெளியிடப்பட்டது: 15.09.2019

Hello dear ones:)

Another week has flown by and I couldn't bring myself to find the time to continue my blog. Today, my dear mom reminded me:D

I think the last entry went until last Friday, so I have to concentrate a bit on what has happened since then.

On Friday, as mentioned before, we were at the FridayNightMarket in Boschendal.

On Saturday, we went to Camps Bay beach because we had about 35 degrees. The sun here is super strong and unfortunately I suffered from a slight sun allergy, but the day was super nice. However, it is worth mentioning that the ocean here is incredibly cold! In the evening, we cooked and then went out to party at Harrintons - it wasn't quite my kind of music or location.

On Sunday, we also had a beach day in Muizenberg because the others wanted to go surfing, but my sun allergy spoiled the day a little bit, but fortunately the rash is gone now.

On Monday, I had a day off and walked around Cape Town with a friend: we were in 'The Company's Garden' and had a little lunch there. Then we walked through the city center and took the bus to the Waterfront (woop woop my first bus ride - I've decided to take the bus more instead of Uber). In the evening, we were at the Roof Top Bar of the Silo Hotel - one of the most luxurious hotels here in Cape Town. The view was breathtaking, but I expected better food.

Tuesday was an office day, so I was working again for half a day. In the evening, I went to HotYoga with two of my roommates (yoga at 40°C) - super exhausting, but afterwards I felt great.

Wednesday: My roommates and I went to the Drakenstein Lion Park, where lions that were mistreated in their previous lives and cannot be released back into the wild find a new home. Next door is a similar facility for chimpanzees. It was a wonderful trip and I made friends with one of the chimpanzees and raced him (of course, he was behind a fence). After our wonderful day, we ended the evening with a delicious dinner.

On Thursday, we had a great workshop on grief and loss in adolescence at work. I felt like I could take away much more for the future than I could from my studies so far. After that, I had a lazy day.

On Friday, I was alone at school for the first time as a counselor - it was a fairly exciting, chaotic day, but that's almost everyday in the school where I work. In the evening, I went out to dinner with my roommates and we went to a FridayNightMarket in Hout Bay with some South Africans and then to a German bar called 'Zur Holzbucht'.

Yesterday, my day started quite early with a wine tasting tour with all the interns. We visited four different wineries - someone should have made a 'before/after video' of the bus rides because our mood improved more and more from winery to winery. Afterwards, we had a braai at one of my colleagues' (typical South African barbecue) and then we went to Villageidiot to party with my roommates until 3 a.m.

Today was a very quiet day, we just went for coffee around the corner and I booked all the accommodations for my trip with Gerrit towards the north of South Africa.

That's it from my week again - I hope I can motivate myself to write earlier next time, then there won't be so much information at once:D

The warmest wishes from your Adventure Girl Laurii :*
