This morning we start the day by emptying our lovely apartment. We load some of the equipment onto the motorcycle and store everything else in the car. After breakfast, we leave Ripa Buia at 10:00 a.m. and leisurely ride on small roads to Livorno. Here, numerous motorcyclists are already waiting for the ferry. We are granted entry around 1:00 p.m. and secure our Hummel with 2 straps. Unfortunately, there is over an hour of delay as we have to wait for several buses and trucks. The 5-hour crossing is monotonous and noisy. The sea is quite rough due to the strong wind, and we sail past Elba. We arrive in Bastia around 7:00 p.m. and it takes almost a whole hour before we can disembark the ship, as our motorcycle is blocked by a semitrailer. But then we quickly leave Bastia and go over the mountains to the bay of Saint-Florent, where we don't have much further to go to our accommodation.
