Vandals in the monastery and hike

Today began with a visit to the abandoned 12th century Antiphonitis Monastery, located high above the sea. The monastery stands very picturesquely in the mountain landscape and has beautiful frescoes. Okay, in terms of motif and style they're not my cup of tea, but I'm still shocked by the numerous traces of theft and wanton destruction.

A little later our hike started. 13 km, 500 meters altitude, a fairytale pine forest and magnificent views towards the coast and hinterland.

Since this was the last day in Northern Cyprus, we had to say goodbye to our driver Dragon (a shame) and our bus (luckily). Tomorrow we go through Nicosia to the Republic of Cyprus. With that we leave the Dome Hotel, where I felt very comfortable. Finally, I quickly hopped into the sea again at dusk today. It has quite a few waves now, and with it the wonderful noise that I love to sleep to so well.
