Day 5 - La India Dormida

வெளியிடப்பட்டது: 15.07.2017

How should I describe today?! We had breakfast, then we had to check out of our suite and move to a regular room (long story), which is actually bigger than the suite 😆 devilishly clever and all that!

Well, in the morning it rained quite a bit, so we didn't leave for our tour until around noon. La India Dormida, a mountain range from where you can overlook the crater, or the valley where we live.

We started with our high-tech bikes towards the starting point, and then continued on foot for about 1.5 hours uphill. With 90% humidity, it's pure fun, that's for sure! The path was slippery, rocky, and who knows what else at once.

However, we were rewarded with a breathtaking view that no pictures in this world can capture (well, maybe those of a professional). It was like the highlands, but with a jungle in between, amazing.

The return journey then showed us how well off we spoilt Germans are. About 15 people passed us (going uphill), from schoolchildren to workers. All these people live up there and that was their daily way home, which they btw managed in crocs, while we were already sweating in our sneakers.

Compared to that, the bike ride back was easy, and in the evening the next highlight. Burger night at the hotel, with many (American) people who live in the village (USA retirees paradise). Met interesting people, great food, extended Happy Hour, awesome 💓
