Explore North Island New Zealand with a camper

The last few days we have been breaking in our rented camper... first we were in the north near the Bay of Islands with numerous stops because the nature here has something new and amazing to offer around every corner. Here we went on a dolphin tour including the famous Hole in the Rock. After that, we drove towards the ferry in Wellington and made several stops along the way, including the filming location of the Lord of the Rings trilogy - very impressive!

We also met a nice couple who gave us some tips, such as the useful app Campermate, where we can search for cheap camping sites.

Yesterday we went to a hot geyser, which should have cost money (like almost everything here), but a nice German couple gave us their tickets, so we could get in for free! Then we found a very cool campsite right near the famous Lake Taupo, right by the river - awesome! By the way, we found it through the app and it's completely free :)

Now we are sitting at McDonald's and mooching their Wi-Fi to upload the pictures, and soon we will be heading to our last stop on the North Island - Wellington!
