Jamaica - Day 7 - Reach Falls

On Day 7, we visited Reach Falls. Since they are located about 90 minutes drive outside of Port Antonio, we negotiated with a taxi driver to take us there, wait for us for 3 hours, and drive us back. Otherwise, Reach Falls are almost impossible to reach.

On the way there, we picked up Jule and Biene to split the taxi costs.

Unfortunately, it started raining heavily on the way there, and it didn't stop when we arrived.

At Reach Falls, we had to wait for about 45 minutes until the rain finally stopped.

A guide then led us up the riverbed, which involved going over small waterfalls and many rocks. Once we reached the top, we climbed through a cave that the river flows through, it was amazing! We then went back down the riverbed, which involved many jumps.

The biggest jump was from the large waterfall, 9 meters deep. It was incredible!

On the way back, it started thundering and lightning again. A lightning struck less than 10 meters away from our taxi.

In the evening, we roughed out the plan for the next few days.
