The journey went smoothly for the most part. We were a bit worried that our luggage would be too heavy, but fortunately that wasn't the case :).
In Frankfurt, our departure was delayed by an hour because a computer on board had malfunctioned and needed to be replaced.
The long-haul flight was trouble-free. The entertainment program and the food were great. Unfortunately, we couldn't sleep much.
Upon arrival in Bogota, we made our first acquaintance with mosquitoes :). After that, we continued to Quito, our first destination.
Upon arrival in Ecuador, we were greeted by a 12-year-old boy who then accompanied us to our 'taxi' (a vehicle that felt 20 years old). On the way to the hostel, we felt a bit dizzy when we turned from the main road into a dark, barely trafficked mountain road.
Finally, after 30 hours of travel, we arrived safely at our accommodation and fell into bed.
