In any case, a day of rest and sightseeing in Seville was planned today, but it was also sensible to leave the accommodation as little as possible in weather conditions that are classified as unhealthy. At least we have a good and working air conditioner here. If you look at the temperature situation in Spain and at the same time consider that our route went diagonally through Spain from the northwestern end of the Pyrenees to Andalusia, we took exactly the corridor with us that shows temperatures around 40° almost continuously. Today it was 46° here in the city. Who offers more or who has experienced more? Nevertheless, we made it out the door and were on the roof terrace of the Corte Ingles to have a nice overview of the city. After that, the narrow and shady streets of the old town, which are a bit cooler, attracted us. The recurring contrast between old and modern architecture in the old town is also fascinating. Then this afternoon we went to the Palacio de las Dueñas because it is very beautiful, fascinating and shady/cool. It is a city palace, still family owned and owned by the Alba family (built in the 15th century in Gothic style, remodeled in the Renaissance, but is a museum and has a large collection of paintings, sculptures and decorative arts). obviously one of the Albas was a torero in 1945 and in a smart uniform made toros ready and hung the heads of the bulls in the living room 😩 A bit exhausted and completely sweaty at 46° several times, we fled back to our air-conditioned accommodation in the afternoon and only left it for wine and eat. Tomorrow we continue towards the port, halfway towards Huelva
