Vieste

On the way south, we first go north again. We visit the Gargano Peninsula and camp near Vieste. The town is located figuratively at the 'spur of the boot of Italy'.

A large part of the Gargano is a national park, which we do not explore on foot or by mountain bike - not least for reasons of time, because soon we have to be at the ferry to Sicily, which departs from Naples.

In the relevant travel guides, the old town of Vieste is hailed as a must-see on an Italy visit. We can confirm this, and the number of pictures we stick to this blog post reflect this as well.
