We get an overview

Mont Royal - a mountain named after the city - is our first destination to get an overview. We climb the mountain on foot (on wide stairs) through the forest. Dozens of squirrels are unimpressed by us as they climb on maple and other trees.

The Olympic Stadium (1976 Summer Olympics) catches our eye during the panoramic view and is our next viewpoint.

The observation deck of the leaning tower is accessible by the Schlossbergbahn / inclined cable car and offers a view of a very green city. The tower was completed 11 years after the Olympic Games due to technical problems - but now it is even in the Guinness Book of Records (the certificate hangs on every corner of the tower).

On our first day in the world's second largest city, where French is the native language of the residents, our language skills are still a bit lacking. So we end up in a Polish restaurant for lunch. The

' Saucisse à la choucroute ' sausage with sauerkraut as the daily special we skipped, but the schnitzel and beef stroganoff tasted fantastic.
