It can't always be sunny!
And if it's sh..., it should be with style!
In detail:
💩 My financial crisis has been discussed enough here!
💀 The bus ride out of Albania:
Or, if I lived in Albania and had children, my first son would be named 'Slacker'!
I have now bought a bus ticket online to Dubrovnik in Croatia. That's EU territory and much closer to Germany. I have never been to Croatia before. Good plan, I think. It continues tomorrow.
Because I'm a little fuddy-duddy, I made a trial visit to the bus stop today, especially since the bus runs daily.
10:15 a.m., Culture Palace!
Well, at least that's what the ticket says.
Everyone laughed at me at the mentioned bus stop: 'Haha! To the neighboring village, yes, to Croatia? Never!'
So I called the number that was on the ticket, a company in Frankfurt. And you can tell right away, a different wind blows in Germany, there's a different train in. Responsibilities are clearly distributed.' We are not responsible,' said the grumpy lady on the phone.
Awesome!
She gave me another number, which I then called.
The man on the other side of the line introduced himself to me as Karl I. Mera. And we tried it in English after initial probing.
I wasn't in a hurry, after all. It's not like phone calls cost 0.99 euros/minute,... I still thought back then.
Well, I explained my concern and he was able to help me.
The bus runs as usual. As stated on the ticket. However, I should not go to the Culture Palace, but to the Sports Palace. That's a typo.
And the time is also as usual and as indicated on the ticket, just 15 minutes earlier... typo.
Boy oh boy, I think. I experience things here that no one believes. Everything could have gone wrong.
But it also shows me what a super awesome guy I am. My crisis management is simply unbeatable, no one can bring me down, I don't make mistakes.
🖕 While I shower myself with compliments inside, I receive an SMS:
Welcome to Albania. Phone calls here cost you 0.99 euros/minute.
Oops!
I immediately wrote to them and found out that it doesn't apply from the SMS, but from entering Albania.
Oopsie!
I think of my mom. I love her and she's EXPENSIVE.
And there was another very long call to home.
Well, ok.
For that money, I could have flown both of them in with Ryanair. A cup of coffee would have been included in the price. Damn, even a snack.
But money, pfft, I don't get upset about money.
Please just keep your fingers crossed that the bus to Croatia really works out tomorrow.
Thanks!
And now a few photo impressions from today...
(In the end, it's already beautiful.)
