We start the new week heading west to Terra Nova National Park.
We will stay here for three days. The weather keeps surprising us. We spent the first day in the rain and only visited the Ochre Hill viewpoint. Despite the storm and rain, the view was fascinating.
The next day was sunny again and we hiked from Newman Sound to Saltons Cove and back. Since the children are good walkers and walk a lot, we need more time for a hike. The trail was varied and we could observe and discover a lot.
After spending half of the day by the water, we hiked up to Blue Hill in the evening and the view was really worth it. We could see all the way to Bonavista and spotted the next iceberg, which shone in the sun.
We wanted to spend the night in a parking lot from where our hike was supposed to start the next day. Unfortunately, the park rangers informed us that overnight parking is not allowed. So we had to leave the national park for that night and instead parked directly next to the highway. The noise made it difficult to sleep.
In the morning, we headed back to Southwest Brook to try fly fishing. Success and especially patience were elusive. So we set off again to explore the area. There were many annoying flies along the water. We returned faster than expected.
We ended the evening by cooling off in the cold lake.
